Four Eyes Production, a Web-site design and development agency.
Objective: To find items that could serve multiple brand-building purposes. At least one product had to be able to be mailed and all items had to be usable both internally for employees and externally for clients and prospective clients.
Solution: Round 1/8inch mousepads, and 3-1/2 inch memo cubes.
The mousepad is used as a thank-you gift for clients. The 1/8inch mousepad was selected over thicker pads to minimize mailing costs. The memo cubes were used as part of the core brand strategy. With 700 sheets, their use becomes habitual for many recipients. On average they last about a year and like mugs, keep the brand name in front of the customer day after day.
Denny’s Restaurants
Objective: Improve Client/Customer Relations, by a 10-minute breakfast & lunch guarantee
Solution: Timers
Denny’s Restaurant Chain offered a 10-minute breakfast and lunch guarantee if a customer’s meal was not served within 10 minutes, it was free. To emphasize the restaurant’s commitment to service and involve customers in the promotion, Denny’s waitresses placed a logoed count-up electronic timer, by Sweda, on each table when an order was taken. Customers had the opportunity to monitor the time it took for their meal to arrive, and check their qualification for a free meal. The timers were successful in emphasizing the in-restaurant promotion. In the three years the program ran, Denny’s ordered over 1 million timers.
Bank – Credit Union
Objective: Halloween Promotion
Solution: Banks, Candy, Puzzles
The Credit union held a Halloween party to distribute children’s gifts to children and adults alike. Costumed employees passed out cardboard banks with a coin slot. The banks held candy, a puzzle, a balloon and a metric guidebook for beginners. Several of the items were imprinted with the company logo. For every bank passed out, the sponsor donated 25 cents to the local juvenile home. Because of the Halloween promotion, 10,000 banks were distributed, which resulted in a $2,500 donation to charity. The promotion also increased traffic within the bank, which also improved business.
